LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Dear Members,
I am delighted to share this momentous occasion—our 50th anniversary year as Bronxville Seniors!
Established in 1974, the Bronxville Senior Citizens is a remarkable association that provides the older community with a place to bond with their peers.
We gather twice weekly at The Reformed Church (and briefly at The Baptist Church because of COVID-19) to stay active, share laughter, and make unforgettable memories through exercise, games, and adventures.
Our group is more than just a gathering; it’s a community and a family.
I am sure that each of you undoubtedly has cherished memories and stories from your time as a Bronxville senior.
It has been my pleasure to forge friendships and engage in our various activities. It is also fitting to pay tribute to those who started this great organization and others along this journey.
I want to mention our current Director, Lisa McGovern, former Director Loretta DeSimone, and last but not least, our beloved former President, Liz Delgado.
Congratulations to us all on this incredible milestone!
Warm regards,
Barbara Gregoire,
President

Bronxville Senior Citizens:
Our Story
Bronxville Senior Citizens was established in 1974.
Our mission is to reduce the instances of isolation and loneliness often found in the senior population. Bronxville Senior Citizens provides older members of local neighborhoods the enjoyment of participating in an active community of peers while maintaining connections to a wider world beyond their own homes and families.
Our philosophy is based on the premise that aging is a normal developmental process; that people need peers with whom they can interact and are available as a source of encouragement and support; and that senior adults have the right to a voice in determining matters in which they have a vital interest.

The Senior Citizens Council (www.scc70.org) oversees the administrative operations and activities of the Bronxville Senior Citizens. The volunteer board is responsible for raising the funds to pay the salaries of the professional directors of both the Tuckahoe and Bronxville Seniors and of an administrative assistant, and to provide financial support for some of the programming and services

The Senior Citizens Council (SCC) is a community-based organization established in 1970 by a coalition of local organizations who recognized a growing need among seniors in the area for professionally run programs and services.
