The International Council on Active Aging began the first Active Aging Week in 2003.
This week is meant to celebrate how positive the process of aging can truly be.
Active Aging Week encourages adults over the age of 50 to take advantage of all that life has to offer.
The goal of this week is to promote wellness initiatives and to get bodies up and moving.
Active Aging Week
is September 30th - October 6th, 2024
Thanksgiving Dinner
Baskets
Imagine this....it's Monday before Thanksgiving - when most other people are busying themselves with lists, shopping, stressing, baking pies,
and planning for their own family holiday, Senior Citizen Council members will be found doing something quite different...they shop, plan, and create Individual Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets, which are delivered to families in our community. Twenty-three full dinners ingredients were provided this past Thanksgiving.. It's a huge production, and with all basket contents donated by Senior Citizen Council members, truly a labor of love.

Richard Bower Wins Free Parking for a Year in SCC Annual Parking Raffle
June 26, 2024: The Senior Citizens Council is happy to announce that this years winner of the parking raffle that allows free parking in Bronxville for a year is Richard Bower.
The winning ticket was drawn by Mayor Marvin on Flag Day in front of Town Hall.
The Village of Bronxville has generously donated a parking space for this event for many years and once again the raffle was a huge success.
All ticket proceeds benefit the Senior Citizens Council, which oversees the operations of and raises the funds necessary to run centers for the Bronxville Senior Citizens (BSC) and the Tuckahoe Senior Citizens. Over 350 seniors will benefit from this fund raiser. Committee chairs Susan Secondo and Pat Long Harris thanks everyone who bought tickets either by the mail campaign or street sales during the month of May.
Congratulations to Richard Bower and enjoy your year of free parking.
